Benefit Sugarbomb

How did this one escape my attention, I scream at myself when I learned that Benefit has recently come out with another square pot of wonderful blushing goodness! Call it Christmas and New Year intoxication that has led me to overlook this!

I have been a firm user of Benefit Coralista for the past 8 months, no joke,  the blusher is heavily pigmented with a hint of shimmer, probably the most pigmented blusher of them all that you only need a small amount to add a nice pop to your cheeks . It is wonderful stuff and I am absolutely in love with it (click here to read my full review on it). However I am nearing the end of it and it’s gotten to the stage whereby I am having to dig deep in the four corners of the box with my brush to pick up some colour as there is a huge indent in the middle.  Sign of a well used blusher, I say.

Love it? Or leave it?

Love it? Or leave it?

Got my eyes firmly set on Benefit SugarBomb. Encased in its traditionally high walled cardboard box, SugarBomb contains four shimmery powders - two shades of peach, a plum and a rose  and they all  blend to create a subtle flush on the cheeks.   Having seen the colour on the website, it does indeed look very pretty but my only concern is that I would need to apply several layers in order to see the blusher.  If you have light skin or prefer a very natural, subtle look, perhaps this might be just the thing for you!  I know that not everyone is a fan of Coralista as it is indeed quite pigmented but I personally ♥ it, I love the coral-pinky hue on my cheeks and I even brush a very light layer on my nose for that slight sun-burnt look that I like to sport even in the middle of winter as it just makes my face look that much more alive. Will have to see if this new Sugarbomb deserves a spot on my list of Absolute Must-Haves.

If you have used this, let City Geisha know…do you rate it or not???

xoxo

  1. I love Benefits blushes! This is my 3rd blush!! I am fair skinned so this looks really good on me. It looks natural and I only need a quick swipe of this on my cheeks and I also like to sweep a bit across my nose and temples.

  2. I find that this is quite similar to Dandelion, which I really like because it’s not too heavy yet gives you just enough color to add some liveliness and a nice glowy pinky glow to cheeks. Definitely would buy again!

  3. I have olive skin and I found that the color looked fake and too obviously shimmery against my skin. I found that if I use it on its own, it just gives me a very light wash of pink so end up having to mix it with my other blusher to make it POP a bit more on the cheeks. Plus I find it a bit overpriced. Cute packaging though.

  4. I really like this blush actually! I have read reviews on line from various women who complain that either the blush is too light on their cheeks or that it looks too shimmery and fake. I myself have olive skin and LOVE it. When swept lightly on, it gives me a really nice, believable golden pink glow and I love you can have all four shades picked up in one swirl, it just gives you a really nice mixture of pigments. And if I want to go brigher, I can easily build up on the color without it looking garish or fake. i LOVE it. Also I find it quite useful having a dark shade as I can sneakily use the edge of the square brush to pick up some of this color and contour my cheekbones with it. Clever!

  5. LOVE Sugarbomb!
