Trashy Eyes

Oh yeah, Kate Moss wears it so well and so does Pamela Anderson. You know what I am talking about…that smudged black makeup look that screams “I don’t give a F8CK” worn from the night before, that looks so effortless yet we all know that it can be surprisingly tough to pull off well.

MAC Greasepaint Stick

MAC Greasepaint Stick

To recreate this look, you really need MAC Greasepaint Stick ($17.50)- a thick, black kohl eyeliner that works best when smudged in with your fingers. To get truly smoky eyes, try layering lip gloss (yes, lip gloss!) over black eyeshadow or better yet, do what I did and get your hands on Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in black, which is a patent black shine that works beautifully across your eyelids. Trust me, it works.  And even better, it only costs a fraction of the price of MAC. Hoorah.

Because the eyes are such a focal point of the face, you only need very little blush and neutral lips. Heck, I didn’t even need to wear mascara! The eyes really stand out with the smudged eye makeup.

Oh and yes, I realise that my face is whiter than the rest of  me, but that was intentional. I had just applied fake tan to my body and anyway, I wanted to create this pale look for you bitches =D

  1. wow ! sexy mama !

  2. I LOVE this look on you CG!!!! I am a big fan of dark, smokey eye makeup and this only took you 7 mins to achieve? wow!

  3. Question: because it’s lipgloss that you’re applying to the lids, doesn’t the colour/gloss crease up? that’s my concern as that’s the one problem I have with eyeshadow gels and this application is similar in texture…

  4. This is an awesome look, I love it. You look very pretty. Love the understated cheeks and lips. x

  5. Hi City Geisha
i’ve been following your blog for some time now and I love it! first time i have submitted a comment and just had to say I follow it religiously =)
can you please tell me though if the gloss has shimmer in it? because it’s hard to tell from the pictures. it looks like it might have it but can you confirm?
    Thanks! x

  6. Hey Joan!
Thanks so much for the love!!! To answer your question, no, there is no shimmer, it’s literally just a pure gloss with high shine.
If you wanted shimmer though, I am sure you could just simply sprinkle some shimmer dust =D x

  7. Thanks Sammie J and Shiva! =D xxx
Imogen, the colour does crease up after a couple of hours but I find that if you just “tap” on it to even out the colour, it will be fine. Now this post was only an alternative to the MAC Greasepaint which i think has stronger staying power. This Rimmel stuff is only a recommendation for those not wanting to splash out on expensive MAC stuff. =D xxx
