Alluring Eyes

I went to the gym last night after work and upon entering the ladies changing room, my eyes fell upon a gorgeous Asian girl with slick dark hair, cute gym outfit and gorgeous face with great makeup but was sadly disappointed at her eyelashes! She was obviously wearing fake eyelashes….geez ladies, if you are going to wear fake eyelashes, go for the natural looking ones especially during the day. Her eyes looked as if they were weighed down by 2 tons of fake hair on each eye, not pretty….such a shame cause the extreme fake, heavy eyelashes were the only thing that ruined an otherwise perfect package.

Anyhoo, while we’re on the subject, Asians are not usually blessed with thick, long, luscious lashes on either top or bottom lashes so become best friends with the eyelash curler and mascara. One step further is of course fake lashes. And one step beyond this in enhancing your beautifully almond-shaped eyes EVEN MORE and create the most alluring pair of eyes possible is the application of fake eyelashes on the bottom lashline. This is often overlooked but when worn, it can look very pretty, giving you that dolly look.

However I find that those full strips of bottom lashes that go on your entire lower lashline look incredibly over the top and so bleedingly obvious. A much better alternative is to apply several individual strands, beginning with longer strands at the outer corner of your lash line and gradually working inwards using shorter strands.  Apply a single coat of mascara to the bottom lashes only as a fill in before you start though.  You can even cheat by cutting a small section of a full eyelash strip and trimming it down to the right length.

Kim Karshadian wears them and so does the gorgeous actress, Moon Bloodgood who recently starred in the last Terminator film.

Gorgeous or what??!! Here is my take on this look. Here below, you can see that I have used individual lashes on my left eye while on the right eye, I cut a small section from a full strip of fake lashes to show you the difference.

With individual fake lashes on the bottom

With individual fake lashes on the bottom

With small section from fake eyelash strip

Both work equally well as you can see. Ensure that you dab on on a bit of eyeliner (I find that liquid or gel eyeliner works best) over the band/individual lash knots to hide the glue.

Happy fluttering! xoxo
