Kiko Rebel Bouncy Blush
I did it again. I went out of the house with the sole aim of buying a bag of lemons, got distracted, drove to the mall and came home with new makeup. And what you see here isn’t the entire haul. But for the sake of uniformity, I will feed you the latest purchase in dribs and drabs, starting with these stunning pots of Rebel Bouncy Blush from Kiko’s new autumn/fall collection – Rebel Romantic. A collection of stunning muted pinks, burnt red and stained red wine hues, it’s a guarantee that the colours will see you right through to winter. After all, pinky glosses and nude lips are soooo dated and belong to the summer era!
Kiko never fails to disappoint me – I am constantly impressed by their quality and fabulous value-for-money products. Always on trend with super sleek packaging to rival the likes of MAC and Bobbi Brown but with half the cost, it’s no wonder it is rapidly catching the attention of makeup artists and bloggers worldwide. Let’s get on with the show…
These gorgeous little blushers come in four colours. They are packaged in sleek little matte rose gold plastic compacts, with a little mirror on the inside of the lid and a click closure. Weighing in at only 5g/.18oz, it is slimline and compact enough to be slipped into your purse without taking up much room at all.
I’m not entirely sure why it’s called ‘bouncy” as it doesn’t have that bouncy feel at all when you touch it. The texture is more of a putty one – it is not a cream blush nor is it dry either. However saying that, the delivery of the product is very good. It isn’t highly pigmented which means the colour can be build up to your required intensity. Application is easy and the product blends well. Always remember that it is easier to add than it is to take away so mind the clown-ish look =)
In total, I love all 4 colours and reckon Passion Red Wine would look stunning on darker-skinned gals whereas Velvety Peach would look beautiful on fairer-skinned ladies. I can’t wait to try these on my clients!
