Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner

I’ve never really experimented with Stila makeup before but upon browsing the makeup stands at my local department store recently, I decided to give Stila a chance and picked up their eyeliner, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Moray.  A beautiful shade of taupy green with a hint of gold shimmer, subtle to the eyes yet eye catching when the light hits it from various angles.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner – Moray

Can I just say how much I ADORE this eye pencil? The application is smooth, does not drag across the eyelid and goes on oh so buttery-smooth. Moray is is the most gorgeous deep, bold taupe-ish green with gold flecks to give it some depth – not a flat green. Don’t worry, the shimmer is really subtle! It’s the softest, creamiest pencil you will ever encounter so only a light hand is required when applying. You can quickly smudge it before it dries for that “I just got out of bed” effect or leave it to set (and it does set almost instantly) and once it does, it does not move at all.

Does it live up to its name though of being waterproof? Well it has lasted all through the day without budging on the top of my lids or underneath my eyes and this was after a very sweaty workout at the gym and a shower (I didn’t wash my eyes though but the steam from the hot shower would normally smudge any ordinary eye makeup) and a few dabs of  the face with a face towel. It still did not budge.

I even tested it on the back of my hand at the makeup stand prior to purchasing this little stick of wonder and as much as I rubbed it with my finger, it did not smudge. It just wouldn’t move! This stuff is highly durable and will withstand the harshest of storms and crying sessions. It is brilliant!

The one thing I don’t like is that the stick is one of those ‘wind up only’ ones, which means that if you wind it up too much, there’s nothing you can do to push it down; you’ll just have to deal with it! It is not retractable.

This may also be pricey for some of you at £13/$20 US) a pencil, considering how little product you get. I use this almost daily, and one liner lasted me about a month.

Would I buy this again? Definitely yes, it is worth the price tag as it makes my life easier by not having to contend with smudged makeup, it goes on smoothly and easily and have a super strong color payoff. They stay for hours and hours, always looking vibrant. Best eye pencil I’ve used so far.

Get it.
